(TNI Public Relations) — Assistant to the Chief of Staff for Intelligence (Asintel) to the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Major General TNI Rio Firdianto, chaired the Counter Terrorism Information Facility (CTIF) Council Meeting held on 22–23 October 2026 in Singapore. The meeting, attended by intelligence chiefs from nine member countries — Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States — served as a key moment to strengthen intelligence cooperation in countering terrorism threats, while also marking the fifth anniversary of CTIF’s establishment.
The meeting discussed the evolution of terrorism threats in Southeast Asia and other regions, including factors that may fuel terrorist activity. Assistant to the Commander of TNI for Intelligence, Major General TNI Rio Firdianto, stated: “Intelligence cooperation to counter terrorism threats has long been in place and has proven highly effective in preventing terrorist acts across participating nations and safeguarding regional security.”
This cooperation is further strengthened through regular information exchange and inter-agency coordination to anticipate and address cross-border terrorist threats. Each member country assigns representatives to support the operational activities of CTIF.
