This news is about the successful search and rescue operation for the crashed ATR 42-500 aircraft in the Mount Bulusaraung area, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi.
On January 23, 2026, the seventh day of the operation, the joint SAR team led by Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin found the last two victims, making the total number of recovered victims ten. The team consisted of TNI personnel from Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin, Kostrad’s 3rd Infantry Division, Kodaeral VI Makassar, Kodau II, Basarnas, and local residents. The operation faced harsh terrain and unpredictable weather, but was completed successfully due to synergy and dedication among all parties.

The victims were evacuated to Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Hospital and then to Bhayangkara Hospital in Makassar for identification. Two victims had been identified earlier and handed over to their families, while the rest were still in the identification process.
