DENPASAR – The fight against drugs is not merely about law enforcement and legal action. Behind the efforts to eradicate illicit drug circulation lies a humanitarian dimension that must never be overlooked: compassion, empathy, and genuine presence for those in need.
This spirit was demonstrated by the National Narcotics Board (BNN) of Denpasar City through a social service activity held at the RHMC Indonesia Foundation, on Tuesday (6/10/2026). The Head of BNN Denpasar City, KBP. Dr. Leo Dedy Defretes, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by the Chair of the Civil Servants’ Wives Association (DWP) of BNN Denpasar City, Mrs. Ina Leo, visited the foundation to strengthen ties, greet the residents, and share with its management and beneficiaries.
The visit was far more than a simple handover of social assistance. It stood as tangible proof that the Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) can be carried out through a humanistic approach—being present among the people, listening to their stories, embracing them, and offering hope.

Amid complex challenges in addressing drug abuse that require cross-sector collaboration, BNN Denpasar City continues to strengthen an approach that balances firm enforcement with genuine care for people. Because fighting drugs means safeguarding the future of our generation, protecting the integrity of families, and ensuring every person has the opportunity to live a healthy, dignified, and productive life.
Through this activity, BNN Denpasar City also reaffirms that the community is not merely an object in the war on drugs, but rather the most vital strategic partner in creating a drug-free environment.
“War on Drugs for Humanity” is the guiding spirit upheld by BNN Denpasar City. The battle against drugs is waged with unwavering resolve, yet always with compassion and a deep commitment to human dignity.
The event unfolded in a warm atmosphere filled with closeness and togetherness. BNN Denpasar City hopes that this bond and collaboration with various community elements will continue to grow stronger, so that the movement toward Denpasar Bersinar (Drug-Free Denpasar) continues to flourish, rooted in shared care and collective action.
Because ultimately, fighting drugs is not only about stopping their circulation—it is about saving the people affected by them.
